High Availability and Scalability for Internet Servers through Clustering

HolonTech's Hyperflow 2 uniquely provides total high availability and scalability for Internet servers through hardware assisted clustering.

Unlike software clustering methods which have limited expandability and inherent vulnerability to hardware crashes, Hyperflow 2 provides virtually unlimited room for growth and total immunity from system failures.

More and more companies are deploying Internet computing technologies - multiple Internet servers, IP networks and web browsers - for distributing data and applications. Web sites, intranets, and multiple tier applications all incorporate these technologies.

Such Internet computing environments include combinations of Internet servers - web, DNS, proxy/cache, FTP, firewall and application servers - all of which must be available, scalable and manageable.

          Key Features:-

Server Clustering

Distributes incoming requests among servers in a cluster, based on round robin, assigned weight, least active connections, server response time, or CPU utilisation

Sends all requests from a single transaction to the same server

Supports clusters of Web, DNS, proxy, firewall, and application servers

Manages multiple physical & logical servers simultaneously

Works with servers running Windows NT, Unix, Netware or any combination

High Availability

Redistributes traffic to other servers automatically when a server fails and returns the server to the cluster upon recovery

Provides an option to add hot standby servers to provide additional availability for server clusters

Monitors server availability with intelligent probes and agents

Redistributes traffic to other routers when one router fails

Supports either active-active or active-standby failover with two units

Scalability
Includes eight or sixteen auto-sensing 10/100Mbps ports
Provides linear capacity increases when adding new servers to the cluster
Supports multiple servers and clusters on a single port
Allows up to 2048 servers per unit
Security
Preserves open architecture for future Internet security requirements
IPSEC compliant
Server management at the IP level
Universal support for all IP protocols - not just TCP
Installation & Management
Includes easy to use Java installation software
Provides a single point of management for all servers and clusters
Supports remote management through SNMP, CLI, telnet, or Web browser
Generates reports and email alerts based on server, cluster and router performance
